The Spring 2026 Release of the Etrieve platform is designed to reduce administrative effort, strengthen security, and help teams work more efficiently with their content. The platform improvements remove friction from everyday workflows while giving administrators greater confidence in the accuracy, reliability, and accessibility of their systems.
This release also delivers one of our most anticipated features: Etrieve Document Signatures.
Organizations can now apply compliant electronic signatures to any PDF, such as contracts, vendor agreements, and approvals, without building a form.
Searching for the same information repeatedly is a waste of time. With new saved searches in Etrieve Content, users can store and reuse their most important search criteria, eliminating repetitive filtering and manual setup. Results remain current based on the saved criteria, ensuring accuracy without extra effort.
Saved searches are easy to find and manage from a centralized location. As priorities shift, searches can be updated, shared with colleagues, or removed. For teams with large content repositories, this is a significant jump in productivity.
With new SCIM support, Softdocs now enables real-time user provisioning and deprovisioning via integration with identity providers. User access stays accurate without the time-consuming need for manual imports or cleanup.
Because SCIM automatically updates permissions when users change roles or leave the organization, your organization’s security stance improves while headaches for IT drop. Administrators can eliminate directory links, file transfers, and manual user maintenance, freeing their teams from tedious routine access management.
More Resilient, Reliable User Imports
User imports are now more flexible and forgiving, ensuring that minor data issues no longer disrupt entire workflows. The enhanced import experience allows valid records to continue processing even when individual rows contain errors, keeping systems moving without unnecessary delays.
Outlook Add-In Shared Inbox Support
For many teams, shared inboxes are the primary channel for receiving and routing incoming documents and forms into Etrieve Content. Until now, the Outlook Add-In only supported filing attachments from a personal mailbox, requiring staff to forward emails or manually download and re-upload files before they could be filed. With Shared Inbox Support, that extra step is gone.
Teams can now open the Outlook Add-In directly from shared mailbox folders and file email attachments into Etrieve Content using the same familiar workflow they already use in their personal inbox. Permission-aware filing and compliance controls apply consistently across both personal and shared mailboxes, so organizations can standardize high-volume document intake without creating exceptions or workarounds.
For organizations processing large numbers of incoming documents through shared departmental mailboxes, this update meaningfully reduces manual handling while keeping filing consistent and compliant. Review the rolling release notes for details on installing the latest version of the Outlook Add-In.
Classification for All Document Types with ITP
Document classification through Intelligent Document Processing is now more flexible. Instead of being limited to a set of pre-mapped document types, IDP will attempt to classify any document type that a user has "add" permissions to, helping to streamline indexing and reduce manual sorting as new document types are introduced.
The Spring 2026 Release marks the arrival of one of our most anticipated new features: ad hoc document electronic signatures within the Etrieve platform.
Etrieve Document Signatures enables users to apply signatures to any uploaded PDF, drastically simplifying the handling of ad hoc documents like contracts, vendor agreements, and approvals.
With simple drag-and-drop field placement, documents can be prepared quickly and sent for signature with minimal setup. Signed PDFs are tamper-evident and include a complete audit log, providing confidence and compliance without complexity. The signer experience is straightforward and intuitive. It’s a faster, simpler way to get documents signed — built directly into the platform you already trust.
Like our Etrieve Forms Signatures, licensing is unlimited, with usage-based considerations handled during renewal.
For organizations seeking to consolidate IT sprawl by removing third-party e-signature providers, Etrieve Document Signatures offers a compelling, feature-complete alternative.
