Softdocs Spring 2025 Platform Release: New Feature Round-Up

The Spring 2025 release of the Softdocs Platform has numerous improvements. Most notable is the ability to add themes to eForms — a feature many schools and government agencies have requested — and further improvements to our delegation management first announced in the Fall 2024 release.

Form Theming and Cloning

We're proud to release one the most requested features: the ability to theme forms to match your organization's brand colors. For example:

eForms Theming Example
In this simple example, a Change of Address form is easily themed to different organizational branding.

With the ability to add your logo and select any color, forms look more native to your organization than ever. Softdocs eForms enhances your accessibility with a built-in color contrast checker, keeping you WCAG 2.2 AA compliant. Themes are applied to all forms at once, simplifying your roll-out to just a few steps.

To support individualization for your users, you can now drop image elements anywhere in the form, not just the header. Have a specific arrow graphic? No problem. A logo that needs to appear in a key area? Easy.

To expedite form building even more, we're happy to introduce form cloning. With a single click, copy your entire form version to an entirely new template, retaining the theme, fields, logic, integrations, and more.

Delegate Management of Roles

Building on our powerful delegation management for colleges, universities, large K-12 districts, and distributed government agencies, we're proud to now add management of roles.

This adds an entirely new dimension and level of control. Department managers can now create document types, grant access to those doc types via roles, and create entire groups for simplified management at scale.

HEIC Image Support

High-Efficiency Image File Container (HEIC), a format for storing images commonly used by Apple on iPhones and iPads, is now supported in the Content Viewer.  Users can upload new HEIC files into Content via the paperclip icon and/or import, and these files will display in the Viewer.

Additionally, while HEIC files cannot currently be viewed via Web Capture, Virtual Printer, or Email Add-Ins, files in HEIC format can be filed using one of those applications, and once the file is in Content, it will display as expected.
