Softdocs, the leading provider of document management and process automation solutions for education and government, today announced the Summer release of the Etrieve platform. This release improves the core user experience for staff productivity, with a comprehensive overhaul of Etrieve Content’s document viewer and a series of enhancements to Etrieve Forms Builder.
The centerpiece of the Summer release is an all-new Etrieve Content document viewer. Documents now open directly within the Content search experience, eliminating context switching, while navigating documents has been streamlined with thumbnail views, smooth zoom, in-document search, and quick jumping between results.
A redesigned contextual panel surfaces key fields, document history, version counts, and linked documents in a single pane. The viewer also expands the annotation suite for more robust collaboration and documentation, and new sophisticated permissions provide granular control over editing, redaction, downloading, and sharing.
The viewer meets WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards, reflecting accessibility as a core part of its design.
The Summer release introduces Etrieve Forms Builder enhancements informed directly by customer feedback. These include auto-populated date fields, a new "Set Field Value" logic action for conditional defaults, horizontal layout options for checkbox and radio button groups, a native State dropdown element, and the ability to reuse Etrieve Connect Sources multiple times within a single form.
Together, these enhancements reflect Softdocs' continued focus on process efficiency, from upfront data integrity when collecting forms to bidirectional integration with SIS and CRM systems to faster information access.
The Etrieve platform is delivered via a SaaS model, and all customers will receive these new capabilities automatically with no manual upgrades or downtime required.
