Rollout Timeline
The Summer 2026 Release introduces a completely reimagined Etrieve Content and Viewer experience, making it faster and easier to browse, find, view, and work with your documents.
Here's what to expect over the coming weeks.
August 20 | The New Viewer Arrives
Viewer goes live in the new experience. Users will still access the new experience via the "Try New Content" button, but they will no longer be redirected back to the legacy viewer to open documents. From this point forward, all document viewing happens in the new experience until you switch back over to the legacy experience, including annotations, redactions, document editing, image cleaning, key field editing, sharing, and viewing linked (related) documents. When users upload a document, they will also be able to view and file it directly from the new experience.
August 25 | Softdocs Summer Product Release Review Webinar
Join our product team for a live walkthrough of the Summer 2026 Release. We'll highlight what's new, explain why it matters, and share tips to help you get the most from the new Content experience.
September 5 | Early Adopter Rollout Begins
Early adopter opt-in begins. Clients who opt in as early adopters will start being routed directly to the new experience when they navigate to Content, with no need to click "Try New Content."
The September 5th update also unlocks several new capabilities:

Copy documents

Restore recycled documents
Also coming in mid-September
Etrieve Collab subscribers will be able to collaborate on documents directly within the new Content experience.
Note: You'll be able to view linked documents beginning August 20. The ability to add linked documents becomes available September 5.
October | Full Rollout of New Content Experience
Full cutover for all clients. All clients will begin being routed to the new experience when navigating to Content. We will share the confirmed date as soon as it is finalized.
