Softdocs, the leading provider of document management and process automation solutions for education and government, released the Fall 2025 update to the Softdocs Platform.
The new release includes the general release of Softdocs Intelligent Transcript Processing (ITP) with improved precision and speed to automatically capture, validate, and route transcript data with industry-best accuracy. ITP uses generative AI and natural language processing (NLP) to read documents in a human-like pattern, overcoming the limitations of legacy OCR platforms that cannot understand the context of data. Customers experience exponential process acceleration and far fewer errors even during peak seasons.
"In partnership with our customers and the trusted foundation of AWS, our Intelligent Transcript Processing solution represents the best of how we build at Softdocs,” said Scott Craig, Chief Product and Strategy Officer. “By collaborating closely with institutions that process thousands of transcripts every year, we’ve designed a solution that uses generative AI to simplify, standardize, and accelerate transcript workflows, while maintaining the security and compliance our customers expect.”
The release of ITP comes after a successful beta program of its use with several Softdocs Platform users. “Softdocs has worked hard to understand our process and how the technology would be most helpful,” said Olivia Wickman, Hathaway and Compliance Coordinator at Casper College. “ ITP is going to save our Records department so much time in evaluating transcripts, inputting their data into our SIS, and informing students what transferred from their other colleges.”
The Fall 2025 release also offers a reimagined Search experience, empowering users with a faster and more intuitive way to find and manage documents. The modernized landing page showcases recent activity and saved searches, while the re-architected simple and advanced search delivers more precise results faster.
Softdocs also expands intake capabilities with the introduction of Web Capture scanning for both ad-hoc and batch workflows. Users can now process documents prior to filing and utilize the new split document feature, available in both Web Capture and Email Plugins, to separate multi-page files into individual documents with ease.
Rounding out this release, users will benefit from enhanced administrative control through department-owned email templates. This feature allows departments to manage and secure their workflow templates, ensuring that only authorized personnel can control messaging and reducing cross-department conflicts.
The Softdocs Platform is delivered via a SaaS model. All customers will experience the Fall 2025 release automatically without manual upgrades or downtime.
“Every release brings game-changing enhancements for our customers,” said Adam Park, Softdocs CEO. “Capabilities like ITP and smarter search transform what teams can do within a world of limited time and headcount. We are honored to help schools, districts, and agencies find new opportunities for greater student and citizen experiences.”
