Columbia, SC – [February 4, 2025] – Softdocs, the leading provider of document management and process automation for education and government, announced today the availability of the Winter 2025 release of the Softdocs platform.
The new version includes enhancements to AI-based Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), an advanced capture technology that combines artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and natural language processing (NLP) to understand the document’s type, business context, and key values. This automatic classification and data extraction vastly reduces manual touch and integrates captured documents directly into the correct workflows and repositories, introducing significant efficiencies to any document-based process such as invoice processing, personnel documentation, student records, and more.
IDP is available in the Softdocs virtual printer and email plugins for ad hoc document processing, as well as the new AI-based Web Capture application, which enables batch uploads from local folders or shared drives. Batch processing, coupled with IDP, offer compounding efficiencies for back-file processing, document migrations, transcript processing, and more.
Softdocs eForms, the industry-leading, no-code form designer, offers more dynamic form capabilities by introducing a new level of integration with external data sources. Softdocs customers can build fewer but more intelligent forms while providing students, parents, citizens, staff, and other users a simplified, smarter interface.
“The Winter 2025 release of the Softdocs platform introduces smarter and more efficient information capture,” said Scott Craig, Chief Product and Strategy Officer. “IDP is a game-changer in its ability to ‘just work’ across an array of common document types. The option to now deploy that efficiency at scale with batch capture will offer organizations an entirely new toolkit to transform common document processes.”
Softdocs has also extended its next-generation identity and access management (IAM). Organizations can now securely authenticate more users outside their SSO, including parents, donors, job applicants, volunteers, and more, while retaining full administrative control with integrations across major platforms like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and Apple.
As the Softdocs platform is delivered via a SaaS model, all customers will experience the Winter release without the need for manual upgrades or downtime.
“Customers are asking for new paths to transformational efficiency. Enabling organizations to do more with their current resources is where Softdocs excels,” said Adam Park, Softdocs CEO. “We are pleased to introduce new platform capabilities that solve pragmatic process challenges while retaining a smart, accessible user experience.”
